Want to catch up with what happened in the digital world this week?  Our weekly cheat sheet will fill you in on everything you missed while you were scrambling to meet deadlines and put out fires.

Read about JiWire’s latest tool for mobile marketers, how brands like Louis Vuitton and Old Spice are creating news ways to engage with users, and much, much more!

1. JiWire introduces its latest tool for mobile marketers

JiWire has unveiled the Location Graph, its newest tool for mobile marketers. Instead of just focusing on the current location of a user, Location Graph looks at what kind of places a user visits frequently, not just where those places are located. Using this information allows JiWire to create connections between places – for instance, Location Graph finds that a trip to the grocery store often includes a trip to the bank – and provides marketers with richer profiles of users. Marketers can continue to target users with ads and offers for businesses located nearby, but they will now also have the information to target users for businesses that are located near places where the user already visits or is likely to visit based on their profile.

2. Louis Vuitton wants you to play Spot the Difference

This week, Louis Vuitton debuted two short films on YouTube to celebrate its latest collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.  At first watch, the two films, called Spot the Difference 1and Spot the Difference 2, appear to be the same, but LV is counting on you to take a second look – and a third, and a fourth, and a fifth. Instead of just making the usual advertisement, LV has created a gaming experience that motivates viewers to watch the two films over and over again in order to spot five differences between them. Once you spot all five differences, you can tweet your finds to @LouisVuitton_UK with the hashtag #LVKusama to be entered to win a copy of Alice in Wonderland, illustrated especially by Kusama.

3. “Old Spice Muscle Music” is the viral video of the week

This week’s viral video comes courtesy of Old Spice and its newest interactive video on Vimeo entitled “Old Spice Muscle Music.” In the last 48 hours, more than 2.4 million people have clicked over to watch the newest Old Spice Guy, Terry Crews, play a slew of instruments by merely flexing his muscles. After the clip is done playing, you can compose an original symphony by using your own keyboard. For brands, the ad campaign demonstrates the importance of knowing your audience and always striving to create new ways to interact with them.

4. The new Super PAC app improves transparency

The Republican National Convention kicked off this week, and the Democratic National Convention is not far behind. For voters, this means that the airwaves are about to become dominated with campaign advertisements, often times containing questionable or misleading information. However, there is an app this year to help users quickly identify the sponsors behind an ad and check the accuracy of its claims. The new Super PAC app is able to identify a political ad from a short audio clip, much like how the Shazam app can identify full songs. The aim of the app is to improve transparency, and it includes features that let users vote on whether or not they liked an ad and rate its accuracy.

5. Pin a Post is “Pinterest for location”

Banjo has released Pin a Post – a new app that’s being touted as “Pinterest for location.” Users can do a search for any city and Pin a Post will scour social media sites for posts tagged with or originating from that location. Next, the app will let you pin the posts that you want to save to your private virtual corkboard. In addition to saving posts (including photos), users will also be able to add personal comments.

Have you already watched the videos from Louis Vuitton and Old Spice? Already using Super PAC and Pin a Post? If so, let us know your thoughts!
