ZenithOptimedia today announces the promotion of Christian Lee to the position of Managing Director of Newcast UK, ZenithOptimedia’s branded content and sponsorship division, from his previous role as ZenithOptimedia Commercial Director. Lee will take up the position immediately and continue to report to Gerry Boyle, UK CEO of ZenithOptimedia Group.
Lee is tasked with continuing Newcast’s growth and development, which has seen the division grow to billings of over £45m and a team of 22 specialists since its launch in 2007. Newcast develops and activates branded content and engagement solutions for ZenithOptimedia clients, including ad funded programming and sponsorship, product placement, social media publishing, mobile content, and experiential marketing.
Notable Newcast projects include B&Q’s long running sponsorship and content partnership with 4Homes and O2’s livestreaming of a Kasabian New Year’s Eve gig on the homepage of YouTube.
Paul Constantine will continue in his role as Managing Partner of ZenithOptimedia Group, focussing on client business growth across a number of key clients including Comparethemarket.com.
Gerry Boyle, CEO, comments “Christian is the natural choice to succeed Paul and I am delighted that he has accepted the challenge of continuing the momentum we have in the content space, and leading Newcast into the future”.
With 14 years experience in the media business, Lee has been within the ZenithOptimedia Group for over 11 years, initially working as a Client Service Director. Lee became New Business and Marketing Director of ZenithOptimedia UK in June 2007 and was instrumental in driving the agency through three years of accelerated new business growth. At the end of 2010, as part of the agency group re-structure, Lee became the Commercial Director for ZenithOptimedia UK Group, responsible for helping to drive new revenue streams for the agency.
Lee comments: “With such a fantastic team and reputation in the marketplace, I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the next phase of Newcast’s growth”.
