newcast in Australia will be headed by former Austereo Senior Strategist Vicki Connerty. Previously, Connerty was Sponsorship Director for a UK-based media agency , and was credited with award-winning work in the non traditional media space for clients including Diageo, Disney and Nestle.

Connerty said: “newcast has an enviable reputation internationally for creating and executing groundbreaking marketing campaigns for clients. I am delighted to be joining the team in Australia to continue their strong track record in delivering non traditional solutions.”

newcast Global Managing Director Mark Waugh , who has recently been in Sydney to assist with the launch of newcast, said: “Clients are increasingly demanding total communications solutions from media agencies that encompass their ‘owned’ and ‘earned’ media, not just ‘paid’ media. Having a dedicated unit like newcast, focused on branded content development, sponsorship integrations and live brand experiences, meets this need.

“Plus, the Australian media scene clearly offers a fertile, naturally creative environment – one in which I’m sure newcast will flourish.”

ZenithOptimedia Chief Operating Officer Andrew Sherman said: “Our agency spend in non traditional media continues to grow. The launch of newcast will benefit our clients through better sharing of ideas and global best practice. This will further enhance the effectiveness of this investment.”
